Braided Rose Hairstyle Is The Hottest New Trend And We Are Obsessed

Flowers in the hair are apparently an evergreen fashion trend!

Yet, you do not have to wait for the spring to decorate your hair with flowers, as the following pastel-toned, intricately braided rose-inspired hairstyle is possible the prettiest up ‘do you have ever seen!

The braided rose hairstyle has been taking Instagram by storm since its creator, Alison Valsamis,  a hairstylist based in Fairfield, Connecticut, posted a picture of her handiwork for the first time.

She then wrote:

“This one has been in my brain a while. And today the sun is shining and I had the chance to sit down with my favorite wig and some new products. Styled using @biolage Agave Nectar Control Gel and Texturing Styling Spray.”

Rose braids also look magnificent with other types of braids in one style, such as a gorgeous fishbone braid look.

You can choose a rose braid that covers the entire head and replace the usual go-to bun, or you can make a pink rose braid that wraps up the bouquet with a bow at the bottom.

The options are endless!

The ultimate spring-themed updo looks difficult to achieve at home, but Alison has explained how to do this complex look at home:

“To create these roses, I start with a small 3-strand braid rolled up to serve as the centermost part. Next, I alternate between standard fishtails and Dutch fishtails pulled apart to create depth. I finish with a Dutch 3-strand braid only pulled out on the outermost side to create the large petal feel of a rose in bloom.”

She also added that you should work with small sections and braids to create multiple layers of depth and to always pull apart your braids from the top to the bottom, right to left. Plus, to prepare the hair, she used a light gel to prevent flyaways, as well as a bit of texturizing spray.

It might sound simple, but one should surely devote some time until you develop Alison’s skills.

Yet, Alison has been kind enough to post a more in-depth and visual guide on Instagram, and she will walk you through it all.

Check her out and you will find your inspiration!
